GUIDE TO BALLPARKS

NY Magazine has this amusing and informative guide to Yankee Stadium and Shea Stadium.

FULL HOUSE KIDS ALL GROWN

Details Magazine has profile of former child tv stars.

Among the stars featured are Emmanuel Lewis, Jeremy Miller, and Candace Cameron (pictured above on the left with "Full House" co-star Jodie Sweetin).

Wow, D.J. Tanner really lost all that baby fat, eh?

WHY NL FANS SHOULD HATE TONY LA RUSSA

As all baseball fans know, that American League defeated the N.L. 5-4 in last night's All-Star Game.

What many fans of N.L. playoff-contending teams should be pissed about are the actions (or lack thereof) of N.L. manager Tony La Russa.

As we all know, the winning league gets home field advantage in the playoffs.

La Russa failed to insert Albert Pujols into the game when the Cardinals slugger's bat could have been the deciding factor in the contest...

If the Cardinals were in playoff contention and had a legitimate chance at making the post-season, it's likely LaRussa's actions would have been different..I'm just sayin...

WHAT I WATCHED LAST NIGHT-MONDAY, JULY 9

After receiving a bill in the mail from the IRS claiming I owed a huge sum of money from tax year 2005 (more on that later), I settled in to watch the boob tube last night.

First up was the 2007 Home Run Derby in San Francisco.
Once again this telecast was a snoozer...too long (3 HOURS!), too many commercials, and not enough star wattage..Vlad Guererro (pictured above) of the Anaheim Angels was the winner, but unimpressive overall...

The new ESPN miniseries, "The Bronx is Burning" was supposed to air following the Derby and it did...but started about an hour past its scheduled start time...

I figured the derby would run long, but 3 hours is ridiculous!

As for the miniseries, I am hooked...It features strong performances by Daniel Sunjata (as Reggie Jackson), Oliver Platt (as George Steinbrenner) and John Turturro (as Billy Martin) and gives great insight into the zoo that was the 1977 Yankees.

Going forward, the miniseries will air on Tuesdays at 10p for the next seven weeks.

P.S.- I stupidly did my 2005 taxes myself and made an error...got it amended today..I don't owe anything..
NO NEED TO SEND ME MONEY PEOPLE!...cough (unless you want to)...
